I know this is a cheap one, but at least fire alarms have standards requiring them to be visible instead of you having to remember how to report an emergency.
How the fuck is this the go to solution for indies?
Seriously, I get that software is not straight forward, there is a learning curve, and some memorization will be required, but holy shit.
If your software is so fucking notoriously difficult to learn, and there are six ways to do things with sixteen key long shortcuts with eighty different fucking views that allow you to do different things, you might want to rethink your strategy.
Cash registers are not that hard to learn. Someone who is trained to operate a cash register will know how to navigate the mess of cluttered menus.
The problem is that because of the technical jargon and cluttered interface (especially on older systems), even someone who has been trained on a register may struggle to navigate to an option when they encounter an unfamiliar or uncommon situation.
